What’s Your Skin Type?

By Riannon Westall

It’s very important to know your skin type.

Why? Because you can’t eliminate the problems you have with your skin unless you know its characteristics. Awareness of your skin type will help you pick out the appropriate and beneficial facial products.

To find out your skin type, wipe your face with a tissue and use this guide below!

Normal Skin

  • Tissue does not pick up any oil
  • Skin feels elastic
  • Healthy complexion
  • Appears clean
  • Pores are barely noticeable

Tips: Do whatever you’re doing because it’s working!

Dry Skin

  • Tissue does not absorb any oil
  • Feels dry and flaky and may peel
  • Prone to irritation but not break outs

Tips: Use moisturizer 2 times a day and apply a moisturizing face mask 2 times a week.

Oily Skin

  • Paper will absorb oil when exposed to your forehead, cheeks and nose
  • Appears shiny after cleansed
  • Enlarged pores
  • Prone to acne

Tips: Cleanse face thoroughly and use an exfoliator 1-2 times a week. Use only oil-free moisturizers.

Sensitive Skin

  • Dry
  • Tight
  • Becomes irritated very easily
  • Redness
  • Prone to break out in rashes

Tips: Avoid facial products with unnatural fragrances and colours.

Combination Skin

  • Tissue picks up oil from nose and forehead
  • Cheeks are oil free
  • Dry usually around cheeks and eyes
  • May have blemishes
  • Areas of both dry and oily skin

Tips: Oily areas should be thoroughly cleansed. Dry areas should be treated with moisturizer.

cleaners do both. And no mattre how much we try to clean our face and prnveet gunk, it'll come back do you have an oily face? Just asking. If you do it's good to use an astringent. It's really strong, but it works.
